| For those who want to be ranked in Aikido, you must be tested. The ranks in Aikido are divided into kyu and dan ranking. The children's kyu's start at 10th kyu and go upward to Shodan-ho or Black belt trainee. The adult kyu's start at 6th kyu and go up to 1st kyu. Then follows 1st dan or 1st degree black belt. The black belts then go up to 9th dan. There is a list of testing techniques that you may consult for each level that show what will be required for the exam. Those lists are on the homepage of this website. |
