Laurel Wilson - Desert Willow, Aikido Arizona
I teach aikido at a small school in a tiny town on the edge
of the wilderness in Arizona. The youngsters were much
affected by my sadness. They told me how much aikido
has meant to them personally in the last few months since
classes began. They talked about trying to create peace
on their playground and in their homes. They talked about finding strength to act calmly
during times of fear and anger. This is Kato-Sensei's legacy, and it repeats world wide.
Much of the purpose and meaning in my life are gifts of aikido from Kato Sensei.
It has been a humbling honor to learn from him.

遺産です。
私の生きがい及び人生の意義というのは加藤先生から頂いた合気道です。

I am so sorry for you folks after losing Kato Sensei. I cannot
explain my own feeling for him.
His ìkiî wasn't anything magical but it was real. I felt it when he's
thrown me, virtually every time. He and his personality, have
always been positive, even when I was doing really bad Aikido, he
always seemed to find something positive in me. He was a teacher.
His Dojo is a truly good representative of Kato Sensei, and with all
he taught. I know there is no way to say anything to make those he
really held in his heart as folks he cared for to make them feel better. I have and will
continue to pray for Kato Sensei, his family, and the people at his Dojo.
With great sadness and a certain happiness as we send Kato Sensei on his next set of
walking.
